Aliki was born in Auckland New Zealand, immigrating to Australia at the age of 9. A Greek heritage left her with a name that always raised questions and skin that loves the sun. 'Aliki' means "truth", appropriate given a search that led her to Christian faith. A childhood involving divorce, separation of loved ones and time in foster care made her discovery of Jesus all the more sweet. At age 8 Aliki was holding prayer meetings under trees at school, taking herself to Sunday school and driving her parents insane with the name of Jesus. The following years took many rebellious twists and turns, including diversions to spiritualism and new age practices. Every path a dead end, and every path a learning experience, she returned to her Christian roots after highschool.
Growing up, Aliki's lounge room doubled as a stage. With hair brush in hand, Abba sounds and moves were performed with great passion. A garage band in high school called 'Cloud Nine' was a closer to the real thing, It was in theological college that Aliki starting sharing songs and stories for devotions and chapel services. It opened a whole new world of communication and within a few years she was being asked to share at special events and functions using songs from favourite artists. Authoring articles for Christian publications and writing song lyrics emerged as a passion soon after.
In 2002 Steven Dix took on a mentoring role in song writing and performance.... this was the beginning of Aliki's recording journey. "Signs of Grace" received radio airplay across Australia, the UK and Europe. Songs off the album won national song writing awards (Oz Music) & Best New Artist at Canberra's then "Australian Gospel Music Awards". Video clips were broadcast by Shine TV N and the Australian Christian Channel. In 2004 Aliki quit a conventional lifestyle to live on the road touring the outback of Australia. Work began on a second album recorded at the famed "Mangrove Studios", now "The Grove Studios" at Gosford NSW. At this time, Wes Jay (The Rock Across Australia) noted Aliki as one of Australia's highest selling Christian Artists. Subsequent albums, books, articles and teaching videos followed.
